and had an awkward ringside encounter after The Body Snatcher’s majority decision win over Jermaine Franklin last weekend. Approaching the ring to congratulate Whyte on his victory, Joshua gave Whyte’s glove a heavy spud that took his rival off guard.

“Why you always so tense man? Just spud it lightly, just spud it lightly. The man’s gone agh. Relax man it’s all good.” said Whyte as he replicated Joshua’s glove touch.

Joshua laughed and responded: “It’s a fight. How you feeling?”

“I’m good bro. New coach, new instructions bro,” replied Whyte.

Before Joshua concluded the conversation by complimenting Whyte’s newly adopted cross-guard defence. “I see you’ve got that Archie Moore defence,” he said. “It’s good bruv, it suits you. Yeah, Azumah Nelson, all of them. All the cameras. Oi, do your thing yeah!”

Not least between the fighters themselves. Whyte claims that Joshua was even talking about their rematch ahead of his inaugural encounter with .

“I would fight Joshua tomorrow; I’d fight him for less money,” Whyte told DAZN. “We just have that thing where me and him fight, sparks fly. It’s a fight that will make you run faster, and make you diet better. It’s a fight that would make me go to bed at 7 o’clock every day.

“He [Joshua] was fighting Usyk and he kept on talking about me and I said to him, ‘bro relax, focus on your fight because it’s a hard fight, bless you and be safe, we can talk about it after your fight and my fight’ – it’s just that we want to beat each other up.”

According to promoter , the fight will either be made when Joshua returns to the ring in March or when he fights again in the Summer. The date itself depends on Whyte’s recovery after a gruelling twelve rounds with Franklin.
