Arsenal’s Australian international goalkeeper Lydia Williams will leave the club this summer at the expiry of her contract.

Williams, who has been the first choice goalkeeper for her country for over a decade now, joined the Gunners in the summer of 2020, alongside her international and Melbourne teammate Steph Catley.

Williams is set to join PSG.

Her first season was plagued by injury in North London and last season saw her chances limited by the form of Manu Zinsberger and the abandonment of previous manager Joe Montemurro’s goalkeeper rotation policy.

Williams’ place in goal for Australia is under challenge from West Ham ‘keeper Mackenzie Arnold and Teagan Micah and with a home World Cup in 2023, Williams will move on in search of first team football.
