Bukayo Saka has been crowned Arsenal’s Player of the Season for 2021/22.

The England international secure 58% of the public vote to beat Martin Odegaard (22%) and Aaron Ramsdale (11%) who came second and third respectively.

Saka was the only member of Mikel Arteta’s squad to feature in every Premier League game. In total he played 3,359 minutes across 43 appearances, scoring 12 goals and making 7 assists.

Despite missing his spot-kick in the final of the European Championships to hand victory to Italy over England, the player never looked phased by last summer’s disappointment.

As Arsenal battled a personnel crisis in the early weeks of the season, the player was thrust into action off the back of little rest and was immediately greeted by supportive cheers from opposition fans. He fed off that enthusiasm to post the best numbers of his fledgling career.

In addition to being voted the Gunners’ Player of the Season, Saka has also been nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Season, Premier League Player of the Season and Premier League Young Player of the Season.

At 20-years-old, Saka has already established himself as one of Europe’s most valuable players upping the ante on Arsenal to pin down the number 7 to a new contract.

While there are no immediate concerns that he could be lured away from Emirates Stadium – his current deal ends in 2024 – rivals are starting to circle and will be capable of offering more money and Champions League football.

The poster boy of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal rebuild, it would be a serious blow to lose him, so we’re sure the club will pull out all the stops to give him what he deserves.

Congratulations to Bukayo on a very impressive season. Here’s to more of those in the red and white…
