Arsenal Women’s North London derby at home to Tottenham Hotspur has been confirmed for Wednesday, 4th May at 7.15pm at Emirates Stadium, as reported by Arseblog News last week.
The game was due to take place on Saturday, 26th March but was postponed due to covid cases in the Spurs squad. The match will be Arsenal’s third to last game of the season, they currently trail Chelsea by a point at the top of the WSL.
Spurs also travel to Chelsea before the end of the season so our North London neighbours could potentially have a big say in the title race. The match at the Emirates will be shown live on BBC Two in the UK. More information on ticket sales is available here.
In the meantime, Lotte Wubben-Moy has withdrawn from the England squad for Friday evening’s World Cup qualifier away at Macedonia to manage a thigh injury she has been carrying for the last few weeks.
It is understood not to be a serious issue but with England playing part-time opposition and Arsenal defender Rafaelle also out with a thigh injury, the decision has been taken for Lotte to return to Arsenal for continued rehabilitation.
Leah Williamson, who was yesterday confirmed as England captain for this summers Euros, will miss the game in Macedonia under concussion protocols after taking a ball in the face in Arsenal’s 5-0 win over Leicester on Sunday. She is understood to be totally fine and just following protocol and she ought to return for Tuesday’s qualifier against Northern Ireland.
